Cardiff Social Care Induction Programme The Cardiff Social Care Induction Programme is a 5-day course aimed to provide new starters with the essential learning required for their role. It will run on a monthly basis and will cover the following – • First Aid This session will provide learners with the basic skills they need in order to offer emergency assistance for those identified as requiring it. • Manual Handling All Wales Passport (2 days) This aims to provide learners with knowledge, understanding and skills in manual handling to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injuries caused by poor practice in the workplace. • Safeguarding Adults Level 2 (Group B Practitioners) This session will provide learners with an understanding of safeguarding and what they must do in cases of actual or potential harm, abuse or neglect, in line with the Wales Safeguarding Procedures. • Medication Administration Level 2 The first half of the session will provide learners with the essential knowledge required for safe and effective administration of medication. This will be followed by a competency-based simulation training in the afternoon. All sessions will be in-person and held at County Hall, County Hall, Atlantic Wharf, Cardiff, CF10 4UW Audience Adult & Children’s Services, Partner Social Care Staff, Personal Assistants, Micro Carers.
