I assist them to access the community, provide their families with some respite and undertake any personal care when required. Before this I works as a home care support worker for many years, my tasks during this time would include personal care, day and nights sittings, companionship, assisting with shopping and accessing the community, meal preperation and medical appointments.
What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): I believe being patient, understanding and having a positive attitude are all important qualities when supporting a disabled person.
How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I can contribute by promoting someones independence while also being supportive when required.
What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): I enjoy the one-to-one nature of the job.
What are your hobbies/interests?: I enjoy watching movies, listening to music, shopping and going to cafes and resteraunts.
