JOB DESCRIPTION 
Personal Assistant

GENERAL INFORMATION

Personal assistant required to support a young man with Muscular Dystrophy in the Penylan area of Cardiff.

He is a wheelchair user and the hours will be used to support him out in the community to places he enjoys. 

HOURS OF WORK

6 hours for social calls (term time)

10 hours social calls (school holidays)

Hours to be covered mainly on Fridays and Saturdays or any evenings. 

RATE OF PAY

£12.60 per hour

£18.90 per hour (bank holidays).

TASKS CAN INCLUDE

•    Assisting with accessing the community, which can include parks, shopping, going out for lunch.
•    Providing support with accessing the community and to build confidence.
•    Driving to various locations in Cardiff.

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

Caring, friendly, and chatty.
Responsible and reliable.
Patient.
Car driver preferred

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A probation period will be necessary in the first instance.  Wages will be paid 4 weekly.  You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
