JOB DESCRIPTION

Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

 

I am a mature lady currently living in the Rhondda Area. I enjoy learning and I am currently engaged in study at university. I also enjoy being outdoors, going on walks out in nature where weather permits, shopping and attending courses within the local community to learn new things.

I require a personal assistant who will support me in the community to access courses, do some essential shopping and possibly attend the occasional cinema trip

while at the same time actively encouraging my independence outdoors through a programme of rehabilitation.

My PA will also need to be able to travel outside of the local area as I enjoy going to places of historical interest to help with my studies.

 

PLACE OF WORK

 

Both in my home and in the community as required.

 

HOURS OF WORK

 

10 hours per week, including a compulsory weekend shift either every Sunday or alternate Saturday and Sunday.

 

The remaining hours would be worked flexibly to be arranged mutually between the employer and the PA, however there would need to be some availability for a late afternoon/evening shift to provide initial support with an evening course and/or a leisure class.

RATE OF PAY

£16.50 per hour (please note this is the weekend hourly rate)

Any work ever carried out weekday is £13.50 p/h

40p mileage allowance

TASKS INVOLVED

  • A commitment  of at least 6 months ,( the position is not suitable for anyone looking for very short term employment or a short stop gap to another role).
  • A degree of flexibility will be a core factor in applying for the role.
  •  Must be able to travel outside of the local area.
  •  Must be reliable.
  • Must be encouraging of my independence.
  •  Must be trustworthy.
  • Must be able to work with other PAs as part of a wider team.
  • Must be patient.
  • Have experience in a previous care role.
  • Must have a full driving licence with your own vehicle with business insurance.

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

 

  • Reliable 
  • Mature in life 
  • Able to provide some flexibility
  • Able to commit to this role long term or at least 6 months
  • Will have own vehicle with business insurance as this will be mandatory for the role

 

ABOUT THE JOB

 

This position is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Disclosure (Police Check), which must be completed prior to the commencement of employment. The cost of this check will be covered by the Local Authority.

 

All necessary checks will be conducted to verify that any candidate has the legal right to work in the UK before employment begins.

Although this is a part-time role, it is a legitimate position requiring the submission of a National Insurance number. Employment will commence under an initial trial period.

Wages will be paid on a monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay will be provided.
