JOB DESCRIPTION

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a 70 years young woman living in the Pontypridd area with support from my daughter. I enjoy going out into the local community when I can and I also enjoy playing cards and other board games and watching TV when I am at home.

I am a disabled woman and I am a wheelchair user.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To provide me with the support and help I need at home and ensure my safety. This will also provide my family with some respite.

HOURS OF WORK

I have 29.5 hours per week which will be split between a single handed sit in service and a double handed morning and night call. I also have an extra 10 hours available on a temporary basis.

The single handed sit in service will be worked on a flexible basis and will be 12 hours per week. The 10 temporary hours will be added onto the sit in service (22 hours per week short term).

The morning and night calls will be double handed and be 8.75 hours per PA. The shifts will be worked:

Morning call will be worked at 8am Monday to Sunday (Precise hours can be discussed at interview)

Night call will be worked at 9:45pm Monday to Sunday (Precise hours can be discussed at interview)

RATES OF PAY 

£12.10 per hour and double time on bank holidays.

TASKS CAN INCLUDE

·          Helping me to dress and undress.

·          Supporting me with my personal care and toileting.

·          Assisting me with moving and handling and using a hoist and other aids as required.

·          Preparing meals and snacks for me.

·          Undertaking domestic household tasks.

·          Any other reasonable task that may arise.

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

·          Female required due to the personal care involved.

·          A reliable and punctual person.

·          Someone who is considerate and caring.

·          A friendly person who can engage in conversation with me.

·          A proactive person.

·          Experience of working with hoists and aids.

·          A person who respects the privacy and confidentiality of working in someone else’s home.

ABOUT THE JOB

This will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period of six months will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four-weekly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living.  You will receive appropriate holidays and holiday pay. This post is subject to an enhanced police check (DBS) and training may be required if identified by the employer.
