Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am an 81 year old lady living in the Pontypridd area. Before I retired I worked as a primary school teacher, and have also been caring full time for my husband.  

I am easy going and takes life as it comes, I have good sense of humour and enjoy being social with our friends, we have good friends who always visit regularly often with a cake.

I have 4 grandchildren, I have quite a few interests which include choir, gardening and reading I am especially fond of historical novels. I enjoy listening to classical music and use to play the ukulele too.

I am seeking a PA to assist me around my home and out in the community. I am quite a welcoming and patient person I like to go to places near the sea as I find it calming and relaxing – some of my favourite places are the Mumbles and Porthcawl.

PURPOSE OF JOB

To assist me with medical appointments, going out for food, coffee and household chores around my home.

PLACE OF WORK

Home and out in the community

HOURS OF WORK

4 hours a week to be worked flexibly.

RATE OF PAY

£12.00 plus paid mileage where applicable

TASKS INVOLVED

·        To assist with medical appointments

·        Shopping (M&S Culver house Cross)

·        Going out for lunch

·        Going to Garden centre

·        Princes for breakfast

·        Assisting making a Sunday lunch

·        Sweeping the garden

·        Domestic tasks, such as

- Washing and drying clothes

- Changing the bed

- To help prepare light meals

 

 

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

·        I would like a calm, softly spoken person

·        Must have own car to be able to take me for my appointments

·        Good Communicator

·        A person who is friendly, dependable and punctual.

·        A person with a positive commitment to this kind of work.

·        A person who respects the privacy and confidentiality of working in someone’s home.

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period will be necessary in the first instance.  The wage will be paid monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK
