Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. (required): I have worked in the care sector for over 30 years in various roles. I have worked in domiciliary care nursing care palliative care and I am currently working self-employed as a community PA.

What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): I believe there are many important qualities when supporting someone including patience, the ability to be calm, reliable, punctual, compassion, empathy, great communication skills being respectful of others dignity and privacy the ability to follow instructions and following procedures that are put in place and safeguarding vulnerable people.

How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I would contribute by providing person centre support that focuses on their individuals abilities rather than their limitations. It’s important to take time to understand peoples preferences routines and support them in a way that promotes dignity choice and independence.

What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): What appeals to me about PA work as the opportunity to provide provide one-to-one personally support that truly makes a difference difference in someone’s daily life being able to build a trusting working relationship relationship with one individual and support them and achieving their goals is very rewarding to me.

What are your hobbies/interests? (required): I love spending time with family and friends, Being outdoors walking, knitting, crocheting and reading. I also really enjoy baking.
