Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. (required): Healthcare Assistant at Bespoke Therapeutic Placement Facility - working as part of a larger team to provide person centered care based on care plans to individuals with mental health conditions, helping with daily tasks to encourage independence but also to provide kind and compassionate care and companionship Volunteer Adult Instructor at a Youth Organization - working with children age 12 - 18, teaching them different lessons based of our interests, looking after children while away on weekend or week long residentials


What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): Understanding, kindness, listening, flexibility - each individual is different and the approach should be full of care and kindness at all times while upholding the person dignity and supporting the person to live as independently as possible (suitable to age)


How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): The role is to provide support that will encourage independence (at suitable level) but to also be the motivation and positivity in the persons life when they might need that extra support. Encourage independence and embracing the disability as it doesnt make the person be any less of value than others.
What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): PA work allows you to build a deeper therapeutic relationship with the individual which allows you to provide better person centered and flexible care. You get to work with some amazing individuals and support them in living as normal of a life as possible in what might be the hardest time for them. Small acts of support can make a massive difference to each person.


What are your hobbies/interests? (required): Walking/Hiking - outdoor adventure, taking photos of what is around us Music - listening to music in spare time Arts/Crafts - diy, engaging in tasks that let you create your own piece of work
