Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. (required): I have an MBBS degree and an MSc in Biomedical Informatics, with a very strong medical knowledge, plus, on top of that, I have worked for the Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka, as a Medical Officer for over 9 years before joining the World Health Organization (WHO) for a five-month period, where I was stationed in Timor-Leste.


What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): When working with a disabled person as a PA, the most important thing is to make sure that person feels valued, respected, and understood. On top of that, we have to make sure they are comfortable at all times, their time is meanful and as much as possible give them the possibility to lead a normal life. I will make sure that I go above and beyond to help them in their daily tasks.


How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I can help them in their daily tasks, drive them around, provide companionship, and engage in meaningful conversations. With my strong medical background, I can assist them in their healthcare needs, such as helping them take their prescribed medication. Most impartanatly I will be the support they need to make sure their time is spend meanfully, and they lead a near-normal life despite their disability.


What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): I like to work with people, helping them, bringing joy and meaning to their lives. The most important thing about being a PA is that I can be the friend and support they seek while they remain in their homes and their community.


What are your hobbies/interests? (required): Photography, bird watching, geopolitics, playing video games, reading, fiction writing, driving, walking, hiking, cricket, rugby, and football,


Would you consider a casual position if you are unsuccessful with this job? (required): Yes
