Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. (required): I am currently self employed pursuing a DJ career since 2012. For the last 4 years I have been part of a DJ live girl band where I have had the opportunity to perform in both the UK and overseas. Alongside my DJ career I am also a qualified dance fitness instructor of 7 years. The classes are built to encourage self confidence, self love and fitness / health. Currently I only run classes for adults, however during Covid I moved home for a few years and organised classes for children whilst in the area as I felt there was a need to, which I absolutely loved. I have previous work experience as a TA at Springwood Primary School where I worked with children with SEN needs, as well as children from different years. I also held dance club at break time for some of the students during my employment there. Prior to this employment I was visiting the school holding DJ workshops encompassing years 3-6. In one of the many workshops I held at the school we created a music studio for the children and recorded a song for ‘help the homeless’. Other workshops included course with groups of children over several weeks, 1:1s and presentations to individuals years. I have a BA Honours Media Studies with Visual Cultures and a MSc in Music Engineering and Production.
What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): I think when working as a PA with a disabled person is it important to be kind, patient, understanding to their needs and wishes, gentle natured and empathic.

How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I can contribute by listening to their needs, supporting and encouraging them.

What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): PA work appeals to me because it’s my nature to be kind. I love to help and have personal interactions with people. I enjoy making people smile and feel comfortable too. I feel my current and previous work experience reflects my enjoyment of mixing with lots of different people from all types of backgrounds of all ages.
