Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. (required): I have previously worked as a PA for a young outgoing man who I offered support to both at home and in the community, promoting independence and advocating his choices. I have worked in a number of domicilary care roles where I have supported various needs and ages. I like to think I am a friendly warm person who has a passion for supporting individuals whilst keeping their dignity and independence at the forefront of my work.

What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): I believe being kind, campassionate and patient are essential when supporting any individual. I always try to positively encourage independence but support in a warm friendly manner allowing confidence to grow. Understanding and communication of their wants and needs is also essential, I would consider myself a very motivated person who is positive and is willing to advocate and support in any way I can. I am proactive and willing to source information and support to aid the individual. I am a strong listener and love to celebrate the individuals achievements no matter how big or small.
How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I believe with my experience I have the tools and attitude to adapt to most individual needs. I love getting to know the person their strengths and weaknesses and support them in every aspect I can. I will positively encourage independence where I can and provide stepping stones for them to build confidence. I am positive and always strive to celebrate their achievements. I’m willing to support physically and emotionally and always keep their dignity, choice and wants at the forefront.

What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): I have a passion for helping people achieve their potential. I am a kind caring compassionate person who thrives in a support role. I want to enable everyone to access the best opportunities and provide support and stepping stones for confidence to grow while promoting independence. I think allowing an individual to have support in their own home and community allows them to feel safe and comfortable.

What are your hobbies/interests? (required): I love going for walks and the beach is my favourite place. I enjoy music and will always catch me singing along to a catchy song. I love learning and experiencing new things with an open mind and meeting new people.
