What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): to always listen to what they have to say and give them calm advise with sometimes putting a treat to make them conditioned to a routine which will eventually become a good habit. It is always necessary to know how they are like as a person in terms of what they like and what they dont like whether thats activities or food or habits.

How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I am good at communicating and listening to peoples problems and finding a solution to fulfill their needs and increase their confidence and faith in themselves by planning out something they like to make up their day or change their negative mood. I like jokes so I can turn something that is depressing to a joke or throw in an interactive, thinking activity to make them forget or reduce the stress they are facing.

What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): Understanding how their brain functions and works and the way they approach situations and take things forward and what do they have that is different to a non-disables individual. I am studying psychology and this is one of the topics we are studying and researching about so I would like to apply my knowledge to a real life situation and get a better understanding of their actions.

What are your hobbies/interests? (required): I love every interactive activity including playing sports as I have tried out lots of sports butthe most one that interested me was touch rugby as I used to play for my high school. I am a social person, so I like to speak to people of all sorts of different backgrounds and interests and learning something new everyday and adapt to the environment that I am in, I like to go out with groups of people for walks or eat together. I also find it interesting doing a therapy session with my friends and give them advice on struggles they are facing as I find this helpful going forward with my psychology career.
