Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. (required): I have lots of experience working with young people and children who have a range of disabilities. I have worked in SEN schools as a Teaching Assistant for a number of years, and am also a PA for other children with complex medical needs. I have experience with manual handling, feeding tubes, medication administration, wheelchair usage, and many other medical tasks. I am first aid trained and have experience with PECS, Makaton, Sign Along and working with children with visual impairments.


What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): I am kind, caring, trustworthy and reliable. I am very supportive whilst also helping to enable independence. I am respectful, especially given that I may work in your home, and am easy to get along with. I can work independently and as part of a team, and am fun with a good sense of humour.
How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I can help the child to access the world in a way that is appropriate for them, ensuring they are included and have equal opportunities to their peers. I can help the child become independent, whilst ensuring their health and wellbeing. I can advocate for the child when needed, and be a supportive and friendly companion.


What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): I currently work as a PA and love being able to help the people I work with to live the best life possible, overcoming barriers and having fun!


What are your hobbies/interests? (required): I am very musical, I am currently training to be a Music Therapist via a part time masters. I also like baking, walking and getting out and about.
