Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. (required): I worked for many years in a classroom teaching students with a range of learning and physical disabilities. I have also worked with disabled people one-to-one, helping them with their daily lives with things like public transport, shopping, appointments, and with their hobbies and interests.


What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): It is important to be patient, empathetic, respectful, and understanding. I also think it is important to be friendly, and to help encourage and build confidence. A person who is reliable and dependable is also very important.


How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): Due to working with many different people with physical disabilities and learning disabilities like Autism and Down’s syndrome, I feel that I have learned many skills for working and communicating with a varied group of people. I am an easy going person who tries to make others feel at ease in every situation.
What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): It makes me happy to help others and to see them realise their potential.


What are your hobbies/interests? (required): Going for walks and bike rides. Going to the cinema. Playing with computers. Learning the guitar. Learning about other languages.
