Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. (required): I have previously cared for a woman with cerebral palsy and a speech impediment. She also said anxiety about going outdoors due to her vulnerabilities. I helped her address these things which lead to her going outdoors more often, boosting her mental health and improving her quality of life.

What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): To ensure i am always showing respect and empathy. I do this by always actively listening to the person and ensuring i do not interrupt so they feel seen and heard. Without that respect and empathy, you can not develop a rapport with each other and won’t have a good relationship with each other.

How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): In my previous job as a PA, the lady i cared for had little to no independence as she was non mobile and had a speech impediment. I wanted to help her as much as possible so i did research into different things such as power chairs so she could navigate herself and tablets so that she could right her diary herself and use whatsapp to text her friends and family herself (with adaptations for her needs). I managed to find both of these things and they massively changed her life. She was very thankful and grateful she now had her own independence and privacy back.

What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): I love helping other people. I always want to help out no matter how big or smile. Helping someone and then seeing a big smile on their face always makes my day and why this job is so special.

What are your hobbies/interests? (required): My hobbies and interests are music, tv, films, lego and formula 1.
