How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I can contribute to the needs and independence of a disabled person by providing support with tasks they may find difficult while encouraging them to remain as independent as possible. I can assist with the final stages of dressing, such as doing up buttons or helping with shoes and laces. I can also support with personal tasks like hair drying, shaving armpits and always ensuring privacy, dignity, and comfort are respected. I am can also help with meal preparation and cooking, writing a shopping list, going food shopping, and putting items away and a light household tasks to help keep the home organised. I am a reliable, friendly, and caring person who enjoys getting to know people. I would aim to create a positive and supportive environment while helping the person maintain their independence and continue enjoying their daily activities.
What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): Personal Assistant work appeals to me because I enjoy helping people and making a difference in their daily lives. Caring for my sick mother taught me patience, empathy, and the importance of giving care with respect and compassion. It is important to listen, support someone’s choices, and help them stay as independent as possible. Creating a comfortable, positive, and safe environment while helping someone live independently is what I enjoy most about this work.
