Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. (required): I spent three months working at a specialist summer camp in the United States, supporting children and young adults with a wide range of additional needs. During this time, I worked as a 3:1, 2:1, and 1:1 counsellor, which required me to adapt quickly to different levels of support and provide highly personalised care. My responsibilities included administering medication, assisting with feeding, bathing, dressing, and supporting daily living routines. I also helped plan and facilitate daily activities, ensuring they were accessible, enjoyable, and safe for each individual. As we lived together in cabins throughout the sessions, I provided 24/7 care, including overnight support, which taught me to remain calm, patient, and responsive in all situations. I worked closely with many girls and women with Down syndrome, gaining valuable experience in communication, emotional regulation, and building trusting relationships. This role strengthened my ability to support individuals with diverse needs in a way that promotes dignity, independence, and confidence. In addition to my professional experience, I also have personal experience supporting my younger brother, who is non‑verbal and autistic. Growing up alongside him has given me a deep understanding of neurodiversity, sensory needs.
