(required): I currently work as a nanny for 2 girls, aged 11 and 4, as well as a boy aged 13 and a girl aged 7 from a different family. This work requires me to collect the children from school and to take them home. I then prepare some food for them and care for them, until their parents come home. I also take a 10 year old girl swimming and we sometimes do a different activity such as trampolining or going to Barry Island. What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): I think that the qualities of patience, understanding, calmness and of respecting a child’s right to confidentiality are important in this role. I would always treat the child with dignity and would ensure that their needs are being met. How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I think that I would support the child to attend any activities, which would help them to have a good quality of life. What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): I like to be able to support the child, so that they have the opportunity to meet others and enjoy whatever they like doing. I also feel that it is very worthwhile when I can make a difference to a child’s life. What are your hobbies/interests? (required): I enjoy going to the cinema, walking in parks and in the countryside, as well as reading and watching the TV with my husband. I like going swimming and going out for meals with friends and family. Would you consider a casual position if you are unsuccessful with this job?
