Developing a trusting relationship, listening well, and adapting communication styles to meet the individual’s needs. Being willing to adapt to changing routines, needs, and tasks at short notice. I can contribute by using my skills in personal care, medication administration, and sensory regulation to ensure all physical needs are met safely. I am particularly strong at de-escalation and behavioral support, which allows me to maintain a calm environment. My goal is always to encourage communication and autonomy, using my experience working alongside therapy specialists (SALT and OT) to help the person I am supporting achieve their personal goals and access their community with confidence.
What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): What appeals to me about PA work is the chance to provide more focused, person-centered support than is often possible in a busy school or large care setting.
