(required): I have always worked in areas which are customer service based but particularly i worked for Mirus in a supported living house. That job involved supporting people to live as independently as possible, helping with household chores, medication and d social activities. I had some.limited training for epilepsy and other health and safety needs. I have a relative with Downs syndrome alon g with other serious health conditions, I have gained a lot of experience spending time with her. I have raised a daughter so have a lot of experience of shool runs and all the related needs of child care and running a home. What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): I think understanding and empathy are important along with being willing yo be flexible with chores and hours as needed. I feel that building a good relationship with the person is imperative when I am coming into someones house and life. Skills in the area of helping with managing a home and health needs are important without trying to be interfering. How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I feel ican bring all theses skills and experience as I have previously supported people. I feel I could bring energy and enthusiasm to my supporting role. My daughter is now an adult which allows my the opportunity to be flexible. What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): I enjoyed working in supported accommodation and accomplishing providing opportunities for people to live their best life.What are your hobbies/interests? (required): I love animals and have a few pets. I enjoy puzzles particularly sudoku. I have never done crochet but would be interested to learn how. I like Lego and feel this would be something I could share with a child. Would you consider a casual position if you are unsuccessful with this job?
