Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. (required): While working in a care setting, I supported an individual who became very upset and agitated after a change in their daily routine. My responsibility was to calm the situation, ensure their safety, and help them feel comfortable again. I approached them calmly, spoke in a reassuring tone, and gave them space to express how they were feeling. I listened actively and acknowledged their concerns. Then, I gently redirected them to a familiar activity they usually enjoyed and adjusted their routine to make them feel more at ease. I also informed the team so we could maintain consistency in their care. The individual gradually calmed down and became more relaxed. They were able to re-engage with their routine, and we reduced the chances of similar distress by adapting our approach going forward.
