Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. (required): I work in hospitality so I have experience in 33 years experience in customer service, being professional, organisation skills and reaching deadlines. I have 2 boys who are Autistic, 1 who isnt great with communication and has behavioural issues, isnt a great sleeper and only eats crispy beige food. The other one has recently been diagnosed with ADHD constantly on the go, only eats blended food and doesnt stop talking asks a lot of questions and some I have to google as I dont know the answers to. My life has lists, organisation, routine, pecs and schedules. I looked after my mum until she passed away last year. She had her leg amputated but we figured it out, still did walks, coffee, theatre. Bought an adapted vehicle because taxis kept cancelling on us when wed go to evening shows. We would laugh but cry at the same time. Mum developed dementia which was challenging but we still would go out and do things. She was eventually bed bound but we still did crosswords, played on the Nintendo switch and watched call the midwife.

What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): patience, empathy, good listening skills, organisation, trust, positive attitude, calmness, bubbly personality, time management, think outside the box and solve any issues problems.

How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I would encourage the person as much as possible to do things independently and only help/support when they needed it. If the person wanted to go to theatre id google times, transport, parking, toilet, restaurant/coffee shops. If a person needed support with getting in and out of bath id contact the social worker if they had one or ring companies to get information on hand rails.

What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): Helping people who need that bit of extra support to live a normal but adapted life so they can do things that abled people can.

What are your hobbies/interests? (required): I like to read biographies, having coffee in my favourite spot, relaxing spa days, taking my boys on holiday to The Thomas Centre and every end of term going to my friends house for a Gin evening with a take away.

What days/nights are you able to work, or prefer to work?  (required): I can work evenings after 5.30pm and 1 day on the weekend as I also work in a hotel on the weekend. Every 7 weeks my husband on call a Friday to a Thursday so Id have to work evenings the beginning of one week and the weekend the end of the second week. I cannot work in the holidays in the day time as I have my own children to look after
