(required): My current role as a Supported Intern at the Parkgate Hotel has helped me develop skills that are highly relevant to a Personal Assistant caring role. I work with a variety of people across different departments, including the spa, administration, and lobby hosting, which has strengthened my communication and teamwork abilities. A key part of my role involves meeting and greeting guests, helping them feel welcome, comfortable, and supported. I enjoy interacting with people and providing a positive experience, which I believe aligns closely with the caring and supportive nature of a Personal Assistant role. Through my internship, I have also developed confidence, reliability, and the ability to adapt to different situations and individual needs. I understand the importance of being patient, approachable, and attentive, and I would bring these qualities to supporting and caring for others in this role. What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? (required): I feel the qualities needed to be a Personal Assistant include being helpful, caring, patient, approachable, and understanding. It is important to be able to support others in a way that makes them feel comfortable, respected, and valued. I believe good communication and listening skills are also important, as well as being reliable and adaptable to different situations and individual needs. I enjoy helping people and providing support where needed, and I feel these qualities would allow me to build positive relationships and provide a high standard of care and assistance. How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? (required): I have always wanted to work in the care field, as my dad worked as a nurse in a hospital. This has helped me to understand that different people have different needs and circumstances, and the importance of treating everyone with dignity, patience, and respect. I feel I would be able to contribute positively to the needs and independence of a disabled person by providing practical and emotional support where needed. I am comfortable supporting with personal care, preparing meals, shopping for food, and carrying out light domestic tasks. I would aim to promote independence as much as possible by working together with the individual, listening to their preferences, and ensuring that the support I provide is aligned with their needs and choices. I believe it is important to encourage confidence, independence, and wellbeing while building a trusting and supportive relationship. What is it about PA work which appeals to you? (required): What appeals to me about being a Personal Assistant is the opportunity to work in the care field and support people in their daily lives. I have always wanted to work with people and help others, and I feel that this role would allow me to make a positive difference while building meaningful relationships. I am also keen to gain new skills and experience within the care industry. I feel that this role suits my personal qualities, such as being caring, patient, approachable, and supportive. I would be enthusiastic about learning, developing my skills further, and providing the best possible support to the individual I work with What are your hobbies/interests? (required): I enjoy a variety of hobbies and interests that keep me active and social. I enjoy tap and jazz dancing, as well as listening to pop music and 80’s music. I am an active person who enjoys being out and about, whether that is going into town, visiting parks, going to the cinema, playing darts or bowls, and attending concerts. Although I am not currently a driver, I am confident using public transport and have good knowledge of the local area.
