JOB DESCRIPTION

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a 22 year old gentleman. I am living in the Aberdare area with my family. I have learning disabilities.

I often catch the train into Cardiff, as I like shopping, and going into Cardiff bay and visiting Techniquest. I enjoy the beach and I like to go to Barry, this is usually weather permitting. One of my hobbies is pottery and my favourite thing to make is gnomes and gonks. I like a lot of different music but one of my favourites is Dolly Parton

I have a few PAs that take me out in the community. This support is in the home to provide assistance with personal care and to get me ready for the day.

HOURS OF WORK

7 hours personal care

Hour of personal care every day.

RATES OF PAY

£11.70 per hour

TASKS INVOLVED

· Personal care

· Assisting me with showering

· Preparing me for the day

· Picking out the clothes

· Meals and preparation

· Social outings, if you can cover the other PAs

· Household duties

· Helping me develop skills to develop my independence (cleaning my room laundry etc)

· Any other reasonable task

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.

The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).

The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK
