JOB DESCRIPTION

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a young girl aged 11 years with Autism ADHD and Pathological demand avoidant profile and Anxiety. I also sometimes have some behaviours that challenge me when I feel out of control and are not regulated when too many demands are placed on me.

I live in Ferndale with my mam and dad and younger brother who’s 6 and my eldest sister who’s 13.

I am sociable and chatty dependant on the situation and if I know you. I enjoy cheerleading and I am very flexible and like to do back flips. I like my fashion and makeup and love animals, especially horses. I love being out and about doing things but I also like going to more quieter places as busy environments can leave me feeling little overwhelmed.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

You will provide respite for my for my mam and dad who are my main carers. And supporting me to have time away from my siblings you will support me outside of the home.

HOURS OF WORK

5 hours per week

Saturday for social outings in the day

This needs be a set day ones week as I like my routines and knowing what expect in advanced.

RATES OF PAY

£12.00 per hour

40p mileage when you use your car

TASKS WILL INCLUDE

I require constant supervision; ensuring my well-being and safety at all times.
Ensuring I maintain a good diet by prompting me to eat and drink what is given to me.
Taking me out to develop my social and emotional skills.
On occasion my mother will join us for outings.
Engaging me in conversation.
Enjoying supporting me in activities in the community.

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

You must have a confident and direct approach in communication.
You’ll be able to lead and initiate conversations, actively keeping me engaged.
Be able to give reassurance and guidance when needed.
Proactive in situations and be able to problem solve on your own initiative.
Patience is essential.
Experience with Autism, ADHD and PDA is preferred, either personal or work-related.
You must be flexible, understanding that shifts, needs to be consistent.
A car owner/driver who is willing to use car for work purposes/take me on outings.

ABOUT THE JOB

Although this is a part-time job, it will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. And meet up sessions to get know the child in her familiar surrounding will be necessary, The salary will be paid on a monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay given (5.6 weeks pro rata).

The post is subject to a probationary period and a DBS (Police) Check at no cost to you. You will have to supply 2 references, one of which should be able to comment on your work practices.
