JOB DESCRIPTION

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a 16 year old young man living in the Ton Pentre area with my family, I am very independent but do need some support with some of my daily living. Since birth I have been epileptic but recently I have had brain surgery which has stopped all of my seizers and haven’t had one in over 1 Year, the surgery did leave me with a weakness on my one side of my body and my eye site has been slightly affected.

I have recently been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, I do use a wheel chair on longer journeys, but I do like to walk when and where I can.

I enjoy going to the cinema, and bowling which also helps me with my Physio as I am playing I am also strengthening my body. I do like to stop for a coffee when I am out and visit the library as another one of my many interests are reading anything from books to magazines.

I like to go to Asda and do my own shopping and prepare my own tea sometimes, I will need support whilst doing this as in busy places I may walk into things if they are left on the floor.

PURPOSE OF JOB

The main reason for the job is to support me to access the community, to socialise and engage in activities that I enjoy and develop my skills and Independence and ensure my safety at all times.

HOURS OF WORK

3 hours per week. to be worked Mondays or Wednesdays 

RATES OF PAY

£13.00 per hour

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted.  A trial period will be necessary in the first instance.  The wage will be paid 4 weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.

The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).
