By Supporting me my mum can assist my brother. I have Down syndrome and a wheelchair user. I have kidney disease and am ibd tube fed but my mum takes care of my feeding. I am double incontinent, so personal care is needed. I am also having tests on my eye site as I find it difficult identifying certain objects. I am very loving and I like to cuddle but I can also be stubborn at times especially when it comes to Peppa pig as I enjoy everything Peppa at the moment. Peppa is not a want it’s a need now so I would like you to take me out for walks locally and spend time with me in the local park. At home I have a playroom so when we stay in, I like to be in there. PURPOSE OF JOB Main reason for the position, support at home, out in the community. Be confident to drive my adapted vehicle. HOURS OF WORK 8 hours term time 12 hours school holidays, RATES OF PAY £15.50 per hour TASKS INVOLVED Personal care and toileting needs Dressing, undressing Moving and Handling Social outings, community activities Any other reasonable task TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Reliable/Punctual Considerate/Caring/Trustworthy Friendly/Chatty Confident/Proactive Confidentiality/working in the home Experienced Car driver Willing to drive owners adapted vehicle ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence.
