VOG989 Female Casual Personal Assistant Please quote reference VOG989 on application, Apply Now JOB DESCRIPTION Personal Assistant A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF I am a friendly 98-year-old lady living in the Penarth area. I receive support from my two daughters and Personal Assistants (PA). PURPOSE OF THE JOB I am seeking a casual PA to provide me with care when required. The support is to help me to continue living at home as independently as possible and to provide me with companionship. The position would suit someone who is not seeking regular hours, but who would be available to cover others’ absences and emergencies. HOURS OF WORK I am looking for a casual/cover PA to fill in when my other PAs are not available. This will include covering sickness and annual leave. Potential for regular hours in the future. RATES OF PAY £15 per hour. TASKS CAN INCLUDE Providing me with personal care. Using a hoist and wheelchair to move me around the house. Assistance with preparing meals and helping me to eat and drink. Light domestic tasks to keep me and my home clean and comfortable. Providing me with companionship. Use of wheelchair for trips out of the home and accompany me in my wheelchair accessible vehicle TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Someone who is flexible with the times and ways they can work. Someone who enjoys interaction with elderly people and who will engage me in conversation and activity. A punctual and reliable person is essential as the job will require working with other carers at certain times. A person who respects the privacy and confidentiality of working in someone else’s home. A chatty and friendly person. Must be happy to work with a dog in the home. Female PAs only due to personal care required. ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).
